PESHAWAR, Dec 22: The provincial finance department, under special directives of NWFP Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Sardar Mohammad Idrees, has released development funds amounting to Rs2.5 million for the construction of seven rural link roads in the Galyat area of the Abbottabad district.

The amount is in addition to the already approved funds of Rs10 million for the Galyat area under the Tameer-i-Sarhad Programme.

Under this programme a number of water supply, education, health, electricity and communications schemes will be executed.

The newly-sanctioned projects include construction of roads between Niani and Pidrana, Binani-Darband, Panjoth-Sanghana, Panjoth-Lahal Mohallah, Binani-Plani Road in Nagri Totial Union Council and PCC Chargar Road in Tajwal union council and ananother road between Primary School Binani and Binani.

The minister for local government ordered the authorities concerned to immediately start work on the roads and ensure their timely completion.—PPI
