KARACHI: Drug peddler arrested

KARACHI, Dec 22: Police on late Thursday night arrested a family recovering 25kg hashish from their possession near Ibrahim Hydri. Police were tipped off by one of their relatives, that Gora Chand his two daughters, two nieces along with a rickshaw driver Abu Bashar would be returning from Mauripur area after purchasing the contraband in a rickshaw.

TPO Korangi said that the information was actually given by the uncle of the rickshaw driver.

He said acting on the information a police party intercepted the rickshaw a little distance away from Ibrahim Hydri. They had strapped the contraband around their bodies in plastic bags.

A total of 25kg hashish was recovered from coffee beans packets, ASP Zafar Chatta said. He said that all the arrested persons were Burmese residing in the area for past several years.
