KARACHI, Dec 21: The annual red-ribbon event of Karachi Race Club (KRC) – The Quaid-i-Azam Gold Cup – will be held in a befitting manner at the Karachi Racecourse on Dec 25.

Matters pertaining to the event were discussed at a high level meeting held at the Kingri House with Shah Mardan Shah Pir Pagara in the chair.

Administrator KRC, Fakir Syed Aitzaz Uddin, secretary, Ayaz Hussain Shah Rashdi, deputy secretary, Ali Akbar Shah Rashdi and member Racing Committee, Kamal Farooq, were present on the occasion.

Besides the Quaid-i-Azam Cup, the AKD Nursery Cup, the Christmas Cup and 2000 Guineas of Pakistan are among a card of nine races drawn for the day.

A number of jockeys and punters are also due to arrive to attend the prestigious race meeting.

Meanwhile, an exclusive ladies enclosure has been set up in the main building to encourage women owners as well as other womenfolk.

Presently, eight women are enlisted as owners with the KRC. They include Khalida Yasmin, Shamim Ara Begum, Kanwal Hanif, Beenish Hasan, Zenab Ali, Eman Ali, Zubeda Rehman and Kanwal Amir.
