KARACHI, Dec 21: The founder of Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Altaf Hussain, on Thursday reiterated his party’s belief in the politics of peace and serving the people according to the teachings and philosophy of Bacha Khan, Kushhal Khan Khattak and Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai who served the people with the spirit of love, peace and amity.

He said this in a telephonic address from London in a ceremony organised by the MQM welfare wing Khidmat-e- Khalq Foundation to provide assistance to the Pakhtoon pushcart vendors who were affected by the December 15 strike call given by Pakhtoon Action Committee.

Mr. Hussain said MQM believed in serving humanity and this ceremony was a reflection to express sympathy and solidarity with poor Pakhtoons. He alleged that during the strike call given by Pakhtoon Action Committee a conspiracy was hatched by some elements to trigger violence between the Pashtoons and Urdu speaking people but the masses foiled all these conspiracies through unity.

He said Bacha Khan was a great leader who had always served masses and believed in peace and love.
