KARACHI: KU to conduct exams today

KARACHI, Dec 21: The acting controller of examination of the University of Karachi, Naeem Qureshi, has said that papers of BSc, BCom would be held as usual on Friday at centres established on the campus and city colleges in the afternoon.

The situation about the status of examination will be further reviewed again in the morning on Friday, he said.

The Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) has decided to suspend all educational activities, including examinations of BSc (Hons), BA (Hons) and BBA/MBA on Friday. New dates for the exams scheduled to be held on Friday would be announced later.

Senior officials of the Dow and Sindh medical colleges told Dawn that viva practical of MBBS first professional (part-A) scheduled for Friday had been postponed.

They said that notification regarding postponement of viva had also been notified in the respective colleges.

However, some private schools, in contravention of government’s notification decided to open on Friday, while all the public sector schools and colleges and a majority of private schools start observing winter vacation from December 22.

According to notification of the Sindh education department, winter vacation is to be observed by all public and private schools/colleges from December 22 to January 6.
