KARACHI, Dec 20: The work on the refurbishment and improvement of the Police Hospital under public-private partnership came under discussion at a meeting of the hospital’s governing body here on Wednesday.

Advisor to the Chief Minister on Home Waseem Akhtar presided over the meeting.

The meeting was told that the first phase of the project had been completed at a cost of Rs1.5 million and the work in the second phase had commenced.

Speaking at the meeting, the advisor said the project had been undertaken to ensure quality treatment to policemen who put their lives at stake in the line of duty.

On the occasion, Vice-Chairman of the governing body Mian Farooq announced donation of ECG unit for the hospital.
