BMC opens doors to students

BANNU, Dec 19: The Bannu Medical College has started its first academic year, with 30 boys and 20 girls being admitted to the institution, said Prof (Dr) Umar Ali here on Tuesday.

He said girl students had been provided with hostel facility in the District Headquarters Hospital premises and a hostel for boys was under construction.

Dr Ali said 16 assistant professors in anatomy, four assistant professors in physiology and two in bio-chemistry had been appointed by the college as per the criteria formulated by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council.

The Khalifa Gul Nawaz Medical Complex and Women-Children Hospital will serve as teaching hospitals for the college. The college has started functioning in the building of the High School-3.

A site spread over 600 kanals has been acquired for the college and work on the building is expected to start soon.—APP
