KARACHI, Dec 19: Pakistani exhibitors have appealed President Pervez Musharraf to visit the forthcoming Heimtextil, an international fair for home and contract textiles, to be held in Frankfurt, Germany from January 10, 2007.

They said the presence of the president in the exhibition would greatly help in boosting the dwindling exports of the country and it would also show a strong political will on behalf of the government to economic issues confronting the country.

Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers Association (PHMA) chairman Muhammad Naqi Bari said that the president’s visit would boost our morale and also help arrest the falling exports.

Pakistan Bedwear Exporters Association (PBEA) chairman Shabir Ahmed said that it would be most appropriate as the country badly needed economic diplomacy to maintain its due share in the world market.
