KARACHI, Dec 18: Muttahida Quami Movement leader Altaf Hussain said it was the right of every party to give strike call for their demands, but the way some elements looted and harassed poor Pukhtoon and Urdu speaking people, showed that through strikes they wanted to trigger ethnic violence in the city.

He accused PPP and MMA of being involved in the violence that occurred during the strike call given by Pukhtoon Action Committee.

He made these remarks in a telephonic address to MQM Punjabi Pakthoon Organizing Committee office-bearers at MQM headquarters on Sunday, according to a press release issued by MQM.

He said if the call was given by transporters in which all communities were involved why they had chosen the name Pukhtoon Action Committee.

He said that the establishment for the last six decades had adopted a policy of instigating violence among the poor people to continue it rule on the country.
