JACOBABAD, Dec 17: A procession was taken out against price hike and unemployment here on Sunday by the Mazdoor Ittehad. The procession, which started from Labour office after passing through different roads of city, converged outside the press club. The protesters who were carrying banners and placards, raised slogans against the government. They also blocked the DCO road for an hour and staged a sit-in which led to suspension of vehicular traffic.

They also observed a token hunger strike.

The speakers including, the president of the Labour Ittehad, Abdul Nabi, Imdad, Hashim Brohi, Habibullah, Rahim Bux, Shaban Khadim and others, said that the youth were running from pillar to posts for jobs and unemployment had forced them to commit suicide.

Criticising the government for its failure to check price hike, they said that sugar, which was available at Rs20 per kilo a couple of months ago, shot up to Rs40 per kg.

They said the government had miserably failed to provide relief to the people.
