Ahsan’s heroics go in vain

KARACHI, Dec 12: Left-arm spinner Ahsan Raza captured six wickets but failed to save Central City Grammar School (CCGS) from a 10-run defeat against Royal Academy in the HBL Inter-school Cricket Championship at the TMC Ground on Monday.

Ahsan finished with figures of six for 29 in eight overs as Royal Academy were bowled out for 109 in 36 overs. Opener Farrukh Ali top-scored with 31.

CCGS, in reply, crashed to 99 in 34.5 overs. Opening batsman Haroon Zaheer got 29.

In another match at the KCCA Stadium, FF Public (FFPS) beat APWA GBSS by five wickets. Leg-spinner Mansoor Ali took four wickets for 13 runs in eight overs for winners.
