NAWABSHAH, Dec 12: Over 1800 primary school teachers and other staff of Nawabshah and Daur talukas were denied their salary for November due to absence of drawing and disbursing officer.

Sources in the education department said that the assistant district officer education (male), having powers to draw and disburse salary for Nawabshah and Daur talukas, was out of the district and attending a training course at NIPA, Karachi.

The EDO Education, Nawabshah, could not be reached for comments as he had also gone to Karachi to attend a meeting.

Meanwhile, hundreds of school teachers held a protest demonstration outside the ADOE (male) office for non-payment of their salaries, on Tuesday.

The teachers said that they had still not recived their salaries for the month of November.

They demanded that the district nazim should direct the concerned officials to release their salaries.
