LAHORE, Dec 11: Two teenagers and a girl died while 18 other people were injured in three road accidents in the city and its suburbs on Monday. Police said a speeding car (LRP-1984) knocked down two youngsters on two motorcycles near Nursery Stop. One Ali Raza died on the spot while Niaz succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

They were residents of Chungi Amar Sadhu.

The car driver managed to escape.

A 12-year-old girl, unidentified so far, died while 10 members of her family were injured on GT Road.

Bashir Ahmad, 50, and his family members were coming to Lahore from Narowal in an official jeep (RIW-5048).

He dozed off while driving and the vehicle struck against an electricity pole near Rana Town. As a result, electricity wires fell on the jeep that caught fire.

A girl died on the spot while Bashir, 50, his wife Nasreen, 40, Zaibunissa, 32, Hifza, 9, Ahmad, 11, Fatima, 8, Bilal, 9, Maimoona, 6, Aqsa, 15, and Usman, 13, were injured.

They were rushed to Mayo Hospital by Rescue 1122 and Edhi.

At least eight people were injured in a pile-up in the Manga Mandi area.

They were taken to Jinnah Hospital from where they were discharged after first aid.
