Power failure to be probed

Published December 11, 2006

LAHORE, Dec 10: A thorough inquiry will be conducted into the sudden power failure to one of the six electric poles at the Gaddafi Stadium during the third One-day International between Pakistan and West Indies on Sunday, the Pakistan Cricket Board announced here.

A PCB spokesman said that a meeting, to be chaired by board’s chairman Dr Nasim Ashraf, would be held on Monday at 9.00am to initiate the probe into the unfortunate incident. All the concerned parties including Nespak and a multi-national electric company which installed the floodlights in 1995 would attend the meeting, the spokesman said.

“Strong action will be taken against those found responsible for the negligence.”
