Demo against banishment of Nawaz

LAHORE, Dec 10: A few dozen workers of the PML-N staged a demonstration here on Sunday against the banishment of their leader Nawaz Sharif along with his family from the country six years ago.

Led by Mian Marghoob and Khwaja Imran Nazir, the protesters raised slogans against Gen Musharraf and in favour of the exiled leader.

Some women were also among the participants.

KIRMANI: The president of the profession wing of the Punjab PML-N, Dr Asif Kirmani, says people don’t support the suggestions made by President Musharraf in an interview for a solution to the Kashmir dispute.

In a statement, he said these suggestions amounted to abandoning Pakistan’s principled stand on Kashmir.

Dr Kirmani said the dispute could be resolved only in accordance with the UN resolutions. —Staff Reporter
