Gas pipeline blown up

Quetta, Dec 8: Gas supply was suspended to Mastung and adjoining areas after a pipeline was blown up near the township late on Friday evening.

According to police, an explosive device planted under the pipeline exploded, damaging over two feet of the pipeline. Work on repairing the pipeline will be undertaken on Saturday morning.

Meanwhile, a powerful explosion was heard in the provincial capital late in the night. Sources said that it was a rocket fired from the Brewery area but it was not clear where it exploded.—Staff Correspondent
