ISLAMABAD, Dec 8: Continuing with the precedent set over the last few years, Dawn All About Lifestyles Exposition 2007 returns to the federal capital with more elaborate and distinct industrial and cultural developments, rich cuisines and special attractions for children and art buffs.

As many as 160 stalls, including the food court, set up at the venue (Convention Centre) will be exhibiting products and other items of more than 100 companies and business concerns.

Truly defining Pakistani lifestyle, some of the leading brand names are gracing the stalls including LG, Gunj Glass, Canon, Comsats, Panasonic, Hamdard, National Foods, Bahria town, Uniliver, Decent Furnishers, and Pak Gulf. The expo 2007 with its grand scale celebrates Pakistan’s coming of age as an important and growing industrial nation.

The two-day expo starting from Saturday (today) has been divided into various sections. The Gallery with its display and sculptor section and an art bazaar would showcase activities like calligraphy, pencil sketching, gem stone collection, stonework and mural painting.

The Sci-tech World Pavilion would include gaming arena, project display section, auto-tech arena and activities like 3-D model generation, while Google mappings would run through.

And to keep the children busy and entertained, the Young World Pavilion set up on the theme ‘pirates of the seven seas’ would have activities like jewellery and costume making, sketching competition, face paintings, movie corner and quiz competitions. It would also offer attractions like hot air balloon rides and the highly competitive battle of the beyblades.

In collaboration with the Kennel Club of Pakistan, an all breed championship dog show would be held on Sunday, the second day of the expo.

“The expo serves a high purpose: It is a great place to connect and a launch pad for brand building for many business organisations,” said Dawn General Manager Operation North Tahir Owais. “We have seating arrangements for nearly 600 people in the food court where they can enjoy their favourite foods like Dacca fish, Sag Roti and specialties from Gujranwala like Chirray and Battaray.”

Fast food restaurants like Dainty’s and Munchies and coffee corner would also be there to tempt the taste buds of visitors.
