Heroin seized

KASUR, Dec 7: Sutlej Rangers have recovered four kilograms of fine quality heroin at Ganda Singhwala border. Rangers deputy superintendent Agha Abbas said the man entered Pakistan territory on Wednesday night. On seeing a Rangers’ team, he left a bag and went back to India taking advantage of darkness. The bag was full of heroin worth more than Rs15 million.

Police have registered a case.

FUNDS RELEASED: The local government department has released funds for the development projects on the orders of a court.

Chief coordinator of district nazim Javid Batto stated this on Thursday.

Mr Batto said every union council in the district would be given Rs1 million while the members on special committees would be given half-a-million rupees for development projects.

He said the court had ordered the district management to cooperate with the nazim.
