CHAKWAL, Dec 7: Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Ellahi would visit the district on December 14 to announce a development package. This was stated by Tehsil Nazim Chakwal Sardar Aftab Akbar while addressing a gathering of 30 union council nazims, naib nazims and councillors. They discussed the problems of their respective areas and assured that 400 men and 100 women would be transported to Talagang to greet the chief minister.

Sardar Akbar said that some mega projects would be demanded for the district including provision of Sui gas to Dhudial and Mulhal Muhglan.

CLARIFICATION: Prof Yasin Siddique has denied that the 13- member delegation, which under his leadership visited India recently, was arrested in Ajmair Sharif.

He said that the group members had the required documents, therefore, after preliminary investigations the delegation was allowed to visit the holy city.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, along with Waseem Zafar and Mustajab Haider who were also in the delegation, Prof Siddique said that the team left for India, with a message of love, brotherhood and peace, on November 27 with the ‘permit’ to visit Ajmair Sharif.

However, he said, the Indian intelligence agencies and police’s attitude was not positive and the team was allegedly harassed, and fake news of their arrest was released. Prof Siddique demanded that Pakistan’s foreign office should take notice of the unpleasant event.
