DERA GHAZI KHAN, Dec 5: The Mepco disconnected more than 200 illegal power connections of chambers of lawyers here on Tuesday.

According to Iqbal Khan, who was heading the operation against illegal electricity connections, said power was being used illegally by more than 200 chambers.

There were only 12 legal connection installed on the district bar chambers.

It is pertinent to mention that there are 565 members of the District Bar Association.

TEACHERS’ DEMO: Teachers held a protest demonstration here in front of the Dera Ghazi Khan Press Club on the call given by the United Teachers Front against the contract policy and demanded immediate issuance of notification of teaching allowance.

The protestors were carrying placards inscribed with their demands.

The teachers boycotted the classes and took out the demonstration.

Those who spoke on the occasion are; district president Rehmatullah Quraishi, tehsil president Khalid Mustafa, Javed Riyaz Lound, Saifullah, Abdul Qayyum Lound and Abdul Aziz.
