DOHA, Dec 2: Pakistan's boxer Nauman Karim punched his way to the 2nd round of the Asian Games boxing competition by winning the 51kg flyweight bout against Macau's Tong Wai Kam at the Aspire Centre here on Saturday.

Nauman was outstanding in the four round bout winning it 28-14 (8-3, 8-5, 7-4, 5-2).

“I had one match plan in my mind which was to start with aggression and my strategy paid off,” delighted Nauman said.

As Nauman sailed ahead, another Pakistan boxer Mohammad Nisar fell in first round in the 48kg light flyweight contest by losing to South Korean Won Moo Hong.

The South Korean won 7-5, 5-9, 11-5, 2-8.

“Won Moo Hong was too good and quick and I could not match him in the remaining rounds after winning the first,” dejected Nisar said.—APP
