KARACHI: Citizens brave loadshedding

Published December 3, 2006

KARACHI, Dec 2: The Karachi Electricity Supply Corporation on Saturday resorted to power loadshedding across the city for an hour on rotation basis, as one of the power generating units at Bin Qasim Power Station ceased to work.

KESC officials said the Unit No 6 developed a fault and it was closed. Repair work was initiated and efforts were being made to make it functional. The Unit No 4 at the same power station was already shut down for maintenance. They said the KESC was facing a shortfall of 100-150MW power due to the closure of two units and it had to resort to loadshedding.—Staff Reporter
