KARACHI, Dec 1: Sindh minister for Culture, Tourism and Social Welfare Rauf Siddiqui has asked Sindh Chief Minister Arbab Ghulam Rahim to increase reward money from Rs150,000 to Rs 500,000 for writing a comprehensive history of the Ranikot Fort.

Speaking at a seminar on Ranikot on Thursday evening at the site of the fort, the minister said Sindh had 5,000-years-old cultural heritage and protecting this ancient history was the responsibility of the government.

He urged the federal government to hand over historical heritages of Sindh to the provincial government, saying the Sindh government would protect them in a better way.

He also urged the federal government to hold talks with the government of China for declaring the Great Wall as twin-sister of the Ranikot Fort. —PPI
