NAWABSHAH, Nov 29: The District and sessions Judge, Nawabshah, Ghulam Qadir Laghari, ordered the doctor of the suspended SP Chaudhry Aslam and witness Mohammad Siddique Brohi, in Rasool Bux Brohi murder case to appear in his court on December 9.

Lal Khatoon, widow of Rasool Bux Brohi, filed an application in the court on Wednesday claiming that the main accused in the case of her husband, Chaudhry Aslam, was fit and healthy and was submitting fake medical certificates in the court presuming that he was ill. She appealed the court to summon the doctor who had issued the medical certificates.

Meanwhile, Hanif Brohi, son of Mohammad Siddique Brohi, main witness in the case, who amended his earlier statement, also filed an application in the court of the district and sessions judge, stating that his father was kidnapped by the District Police Officer of Jamshoro, Pir Farid Jan Sarhandi and others and got his statement changed by force.

He said that his father was missing since he submitted an affidavit and changed his prior statement and was also not attending the court on hearings.

He said that Advocate Ali Nawaz Channa presented his father in the court at that time and also identified him in the affidavit. He said that the advocate was bound to present his father in the court.

The sessions judge ordered the counsel, Ali Nawaz Channa, to produce Siddique Brohi in the court on December 9, besides directing Chaudhry Aslam to appear on the same date.

TEN BOOKED: The Nawabshah police booked 10 people including nine policemen for looting one Niaz Mohammad Bukhari, here on Wednesday. The B-section police registered the case on the directives of the second additional district and sessions judge Nawabshah, Amjad Ali Qazi.

Those booked included sub-inspectors Bisharat Mallah, Abdul Ghafoor MT in charge, Basheer Ahmed Mallah, ASI Mumtaz Ali Brohi, constables Mujeebullah, Akhtar Shah, Yar Mohammad, Ghulam Hussain Shah and another person Akhtar Bukhari under section 20 Haraba, 337-2 QSS.

In his application submitted in the court of second additional district and sessions judge, Mr Bukhari, had stated that these people had forcibly entered into his house and looted cash, gold and other valuables. No arrests were made till the filing of this report.

PROTEST: Residents of union council-5, Nawabshah, staged a protest demonstration outside the press club against rejection of Citizen Community Board schemes by the district council, here on Wednesday.

They were led by Atif Ahmed Khan, chairman of the United Citizens Community Board, Dr Naeem, nazim UC-5, Syed Akhtar Zaidi, Rao Rashid and Mohammad Siddiq.

Later, addressing at a joint press conference at the press club, nazim UC-5, Rao Naeemul Arifeen, Atif Ahmed Khan and others, said that the local government system was introduced to provide maximum benefit to the people at lower level. They said that residents decided to carry out their work at their own and collected the money and completed all necessary formalities including formation of PC-I and also deposited Rs320,000 as 20 per cent of total cost of CCB scheme.

They said that the CCB schemes of their community board were presented in the district council session by Rao Naeemul Arifeen, but were rejected by Awam Dost Panel. They alleged that the schemes were rejected on political grounds.
