KARACHI, Nov 27: The Sindh IGP, Jehangir Mirza, has ordered CCPO Tariq Jamil to hold an inquiry into non-registration of an FIR of a senior citizen in North Nazimabad.

The Sindh police spokesman said a letter was published in a newspaper in which Mirza Wajid Hussain complained about non-registration of an FIR.

Quoting his narration, the spokesman said bandits took away a substantial amount from Mr Wajid’s house. He informed the police helpline 15 and went to the police station where the SHO refused to register the FIR.

Later, the senior citizen went to the CPLC from where he was referred to their Gulberg office where concerned town police officer was called but to no avail.

SHOT DEAD: A car dealer was shot dead in an apparent car snatching bid in Gulshan-i-Iqbal late on Sunday night.

Two armed men intercepted Nasir Jamal, 32, near his house in Block 13-D and tried to snatch the car. On resistance, they shot at Jamal and fled. He died before he could be shifted to hospital, police said.

SHO Aziz Bhatti police station said they were informed about the firing at 1:30am. When police reached the spot they found Nasir Jamal in a pool of blood. The deceased had a showroom near Jail Chowrangi, the SHO added.

In Korangi Industrial Area, a truck cleaner was crushed beneath a lorry. Muhammad Husain, 28, was asleep beneath a lorry when it ran over him, police said.
