KARACHI, Nov 24: Some leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami were booked by police for the violation of the Loudspeaker Act here on Friday.

An FIR, 435/2006, was lodged at Baghdadi police station against JI city chief Dr Mairajul Huda Siddiqui, Muhammad Hussain Mehanti, Younis Barai, Shabbir Abu Talib, UC Nazim Fazulur Rehman, Malick Abdul Rehman and Haji Fatah Muhammad.

A duty officer at Baghdadi police station said the FIR had been registered on behalf of the state for violation of the Loudspeaker Act 2/3.

The JI had organised a protest demonstration against the women protection bill.
