KOHAT, Nov 23: The M. Comm Pvt Ltd, registered as Electronic Voucher Distributor of the PTCL, has issued a statement on a news item which appeared in Dawn's November 23rd issue under the headline `PTCL e-payment facility stopped’, saying that the A2Z Company has installed terminals in some parts of the NWFP as a pilot project.

It said that the PTCL had suspended the e-payment facility abruptly and the A2Z Company learnt about it after a 14-hour delay. Therefore, it could not inform its customers well in time and remove the confusion regarding security and the future of the service.

The CEO of M. Comm, Abdul Jabbar Aurakzai, said that the company had been put in an awkward position by the abrupt termination of the service and it could not explain its position to customers.

He assured that e-payment service would be resumed early next year and till then customers would have to deposit their bills through PTCL cards.

He said that the company would soon start gas billing through the terminals of A2Z.

The chairman of the association and the business community have urged the PTCL to restore the facility at the earliest and save the public from the inconvenience they faced while depositing utility bills.
