Lawyers’ strike

VEHARI, Nov 22: Lawyers on Wednesday observed a complete strike to protest the murder of senior bar member Syed Afzal Kazmi by an unknown assailant on Tuesday night here in Faisal Town.

The lawyers boycotted the courts and held a protest meeting in the district bar room which was attended by scores of office bearers, including, Chaudhry Nazar Dugal, Rao Sheraz, Zulfiqar Bari, Rasheed Randhawa, Mirza Ejaz Beg and Zafar Qureshi.

They pledged to continue the strike if the accused involved in the murder of the senior bar member was not arrested.

Meanwhile, the Vehari DPO assured the victim family that the accused would be arrested soon. — Correspondent
