MANDI BAHAUDDIN, Nov 11: A 14-month-old baby girl was recovered after a week after paying Rs0.5 million ransom on Friday night.

Unknown kidnappers had abducted Maryam Habib, the daughter of Dr Habibur Rehman, on last Saturday. Initially, the kidnappers had demanded Rs2 million ransom for her release, but later they reduced the ransom amount to Rs1 million. The culprits directed Dr Habib to come to Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Gujranwala, with Rs500,000 on Friday night. After receiving the ransom amount, the culprits left the baby girl in a nearby garments shop and fled. — Correspondent
