RAWALPINDI, Nov 11: The Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) received its first ever batch of lady cadets who would undergo training to acquire commission in the army as captains.

These lady officers will be inducted into various fields other than medical. The batch, comprising 40 cadets, reported to PMA Kakul on Saturday where they will undergo basic training, a pre-requisite before grant of commission in the army.

These cadets have been selected from all over the country through a stringent criterion for service in the field of signals, electrical and mechanical engineering, ISPR, IT, education and judge advocate branch.

After the successful completion of the six-month training, these lady cadets will be commissioned as captains and will join their male counterparts in those departments to serve the nation both in times of war and peace.—Online
