KARACHI, Nov 9: Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim has said that his government pursues a policy of creating an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity so that people of Sindh could live comfortably.

He said this while talking to the members of different delegations from interior Sindh on Thursday. He pointed out that the political convulsion of the past, resulting in bad governance, nepotism and self-centered policies had bequeathed a highly flawed inheritance to the present government. However, he said, the present government was committed to face these daunting challenges and had resolved to prevail upon them in the end.

The delegations expressed deep concern over the deep apprehensions spawned among people of the province due to the remarks traded by members of treasury and opposition benches in the Sindh Assembly on Wednesday.

The chief minister said: “Sindh belongs to everyone who lives in the province and is not anyone’s property.” He pointed out that Sindh has been providing shelter to generations upon generations including those coming from other lands since the 8th century. “The Sindh province could never fall hostage to those who nurtured delusions of grandeur,” he said, adding that no one had the right to stop anybody coming to interior Sindh and Karachi, which is also a part of Sindh and is also called the mini-Pakistan.—PPI
