MIRPURKHAS, Nov 6: Sindh Taraqi Passand Party chairman Dr Qadir Magsi has said that the country will be dismembered the day the foundation stone of controversial Kalabagh dam is laid as three of the four provinces are against it.

Talking to newsmen here on Monday, Dr Magsi said that the government wanted to hand over Karachi to the MQM on pretext of creating more provinces in the country but the act would create hatred among people and provinces while peace of Karachi would also be jeopardised.

He said that over the past 60 years no free, fair and transparent elections were held and candidates exchanged rigging allegations.

He demanded that the government should stop intervention by secret agencies in politics.

He said that Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim were products of agencies.

He said that the present federal cabinet was the largest one in country’s history and, he alleged, it included corrupt people wanted by NAB.

He said that the graph of street crime was increasing in the cities with the government loosening its grip on the situation.

The STP chief said that people were feeling insecure on roads and homes while FIRs of crimes such as murder, were not being registered by the police.

Dr Magsi said that Akbar Bugti was killed for demanding rights for the Baloch while innocent people, including children, were killed in Bajaur air strikes.

He said that a ban was in place on employment in Sindh for 20 years which compelled the Sindhi youth to commit suicide.

He said that five nationalities- Sindhi, Punjabi, Pakhtoon, Baloch and Seraiki- should be given equal rights to keep the country united.

He said that PONM and other political parties were all set to launch an anti-government movement against the rulers for restoration of democratic rights.
