The ministry of water and power and Wapda have been directed to explain what steps had been taken for the construction of Kalabagh dam while construction of Bhasha dam has started in the wake of President Gen Pervez Musharraf’s announcement to construct five dams, including Kalabagh dam, by 2,016.

The committee has inquired about the present status of the efforts being launched for the construction of Kalabagh dam, the expenses being incurred on the machinery lying at the dam site and the schedule for undertaking construction work on the dam.
