KARACHI: Library Day observed

Published November 5, 2006

KARACHI, Nov 4: The Aga Khan Schools in Karachi joined the global schools’ community in celebrating the International School Library Day 2006 with great fervour, said a press release issued here on Saturday.

To commemorate the event 3-day book fairs were organised from Thursday to Saturday in each of the three school campuses simultaneously, in which parents and neighbouring schools were invited to participate.

The first week of November was devoted to promoting reading culture in the schools through various activities. Special reading and story-telling areas were set up where school librarians and teachers narrated stories to young children.—APP
