KARACHI, Nov 4: As many as 77 people were deprived of their cars, motorbikes or cellphones in various localities on Saturday. Police sources said that 17 vehicles – eight cars and nine motorcycles – were taken away. Two cars were snatched at gunpoint and six others were stolen while three motorbikes were snatched at gunpoint and six were stolen.

They said that 60 mobile phones were taken away by bandits. Twenty-nine people reported that they were intercepted at gunpoint by bandits who robbed of their cellphones, cash and belongings. Thirty-one reported that their cellphones were stolen.

ACCIDENTS: Two persons died in accidents on Saturday.

A motorcyclist was hit by a truck near Cattle Colony turning.

Police said that the motorcyclist, Irshad Ali, 45, died on the spot. Police arrested the driver and impounded the truck responsible for fatal accident.

A boy died and his friend suffered injuries when their car barged into an electricity pole in Landhi.

Police said that Faiz Ahmed, 16, lost control over the car while over speeding. The car hit a roadside pole in Qayyumabad. Faiz Ahmed died and his friend Amir Ahmed, 15, sitting beside the driving seat, suffered injuries. The body and the injured were shifted to a hospital.
