KARACHI: Hearing put off

KARACHI, Nov 4: The district and sessions judge, East, Nisar Mohammed Shaikh, adjourned on Saturday the hearing of the Justice Nizam murder case against Asif Ali Zardari and three other accused till Nov 16.

The judge put off hearing on an application of Shahadat Awan, counsel for Mr Zaradri. The defence lawyer prayed the court to condone the absence of his client as he was under treatment in the US. The defence counsel submitted that Mr Zardari had been experiencing recurrence of chest pain and ischemia. He stated that as per his doctor’s advise, Mr Zardari must refrain from any stressful situation as it may jeoparadize his health.

Mr Awan also placed on record the medical certificate of Mr Zardari, issued by the Columbia Pressyterian Medical Centre, New York.—Staff Reporter
