KARACHI, Nov 4: Two ships carrying containers and edible oil were accommodated berths at QICT and MPT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Saturday. Meanwhile, four more ships carrying containers and chemicals also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Berth occupancy fell to 60 per cent as seven ships were busy in loading and unloading containers, rice, edible oil, seeds, crude oil and iron ore.

Owing to slow arrivals the cargo handling activity was slow totalling 31,936 tons comprising 26,397 tons of import and 5,539 tons of export tonnage.

Sailing was brisk as Saudi Diriyah, Chemroad Rose, Trust Spirit and Navious Gemini-S left the port.

Four ships, Katie, Ilaria, Chemstar Eagle and Stella, were expected to take berths on Saturday.
