LAHORE, Nov 2: Pakistan will take on UAE in a Group C match of the 14th Asian Cup Qualifier on November 15 at Abu Dhabi's Mohamed Bin Zayed Stadium, the organisers announced on Wednesday.

On same day, the other encounter of the group will be played between Jordan and Oman at the Amman International Stadium, Jordan.

The Group-C winner will get a berth for next year's Asia Cup finals.

The first leg between two nations was played on March 1 this year at the Karachi's Peoples Sports Complex.

In that contestPakistan, despite taking an early lead through Muhammad Essa, went down 1-4.

A Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) spokesman said on Thursday that soccer chief Faisal Saleh Hayat will announce the UAE-bound team on November 10 and the probables were undergoing training at Islamabad's Jinnah Complex under Bahrain-based coaches Salman Ahmed Sharida and Tariq Ibrahim. UAE, one of the 24 qualifiers in the 1990 World Cup, is currently being coached by Dominique Bathenay.

The qualifiers, which commenced on February 22, will end on November 15 with the top two teams from each group advancing.

The 12 qualifiers will join the four hosts - Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia - at the finals to be played on July 9, 2007. —APP
