KARACHI, Oct 30: A minister and seven advisers were inducted into Sindh cabinet on Monday. Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan administered oath to the new minister, Dr Irfan Gul Magsi, at a ceremony in the Governor’s House attended by Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim.

The new provincial advisers are: Krishan Chand Pervani, Mir Naseer Khan Khoso, Dost Mohammad Memon, Nuzhat Pathan, Zulfiqar Ali Kamario, Omer Sharif and Tariq Hasan Khan.

The portfolios will be announced later.

Talking to newsmen, the chief minister said inclusion of ministers and advisers was a continuous process for running government affairs in a better way. He indicated more advisers would be included in the cabinet.

About a recent ruling of the Lahore High Court regarding appointment of advisers, Dr Rahim said the Sindh government has made legislation which permitted the chief executive of the province to induct advisers as per requirement. Anyone could approach the courts if he had any grievance in this regard, he said.

He ruled out the possibility of general elections ahead of schedule, saying the government would complete its tenure.

The governor said advisers had been taken from all coalition partners and the provincial government was running the affairs with unity.

He said the expansion of the cabinet would result in betterment of the province and its people. He dispelled the impression that changes has been made in the chief minister’s power regarding allotment of land.—Agencies
