KARACHI: SCBA’s polls on 31st

KARACHI, Oct 30: The Supreme Court Bar Association will elect new office-bearers of the lawyers' body on Oct 31. As many as 291 members of the SCBA in Sindh will use their right of franchise in polling at the High Court Bar Association Room from 9 to 5am with a single break from 1pm to 2pm.

The members of the SCBA in other provinces will cast votes in their respective cities.

Mohammad Jamil, Raja Haq Nawaz and Muneer A Malik are contesting for president's slot.

Waheed Akhtar and Zulfiqar Ali are contesting for secretary while Mohammad Ghazi has already been elected unopposed as additional secretary.

Other contesting candidates are: Imran-ul-Haq Khan and Sheikh Ghulam Ahmed for VP (Balochistan), Abdul Latif Yousuf Zai and Mohammad Saeed Akhtar Khan for VP (NWFP), Anwar Hamid Sahibzada and Nawab Saeed Ullah Khan for VP (Punjab), Kawaja Naveed Ahmed and Sheikh Faqir Mohammad Javaid for VP (Sindh).

A total of 27 candidates are also contesting for member executive body.—APP
