ISLAMABAD, Oct 28: Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Mohammad Yasin Malik was critically injured in an attack by Special Task Force personnel in Srinagar on Saturday.
Mr Malik was admitted to a hospital in unconscious state, PTV reported. He received severe head and facial injuries.
Mr Malik was on his way to Dalgate when Special Task Force personnel stopped his car near Polo Ground and dragged him out.
He was severely beaten and was saved by the passers-by who had assembled on the spot and attacked the security personnel.
SRINAGAR: Three Indian troops and 18 civilians were injured on Saturday when suspected freedom fighters hurled a grenade in a busy market in occupied Kashmir, officials said.
“Militants threw a grenade at our vehicle which exploded on the road, injuring three of our men and 18 civilians,” said a military spokesman, Manhas, who uses one name.—Agencies
