ISLAMABAD, Oct 28: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has directed the Ministry of Religious Affairs to streamline the moon sighting process to enable the nation to celebrate Eid on the same day.

The prime minister said that the ministry should consult ‘all stakeholders’ representing different walks of life to ‘evolve a process acceptable to all segments of society’ across the country. The prime minister said that the ministry should also ‘consult’ the OIC and other Muslim countries to make the process ‘transparent, workable and participatory’.

The prime minister asked the minister for religious affairs to initiate the process immediately and submit the report in this regard within 30 days.
