KARACHI: Karachiites celebrate Eid

KARACHI, Oct 27: Eidul Fitr was celebrated in the metropolis on Wednesday with religious fervour and traditional enthusiasm. Eid prayers were offered at about 1,500 places, including parks, mosques, imambargahs and open places, besides all Eidgahs.

The main congregation was held at Bagh-i-Jinnah where Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad, members the provincial cabinet, Muslim diplomats and elite of the town offered Eid prayers.

On the occasion, faithful prayed for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan and its people and for the betterment of the Ummah. They also prayed for the liberation of all Muslim lands occupied by tyrant forces.

The Chief Minister, Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim, celebrated Eid in Madinatul Munawwara. He had, earlier performed Umrah.
