ISLAMABAD, Oct 24: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has asked the nation to embody true Islamic teachings by rising above petty differences, standing united and exhibiting feelings of compassion and brotherhood.

In his message to the nation on Eidul Fitr, the prime minister asked the people to follow the spirit of Islam in their life.

He recalled the exemplary role played by the nation in the aftermath of the earthquake of Oct 8 and said their actions reflected complete understanding of the Islamic teachings as they reached out to help their brethren in need.

He said the reconstruction work in the earthquake-hit areas had started and it would lead to a better life for the affected people.

He expressed hope that the international community and aid organisations would continue to extend help to the affected people.—APP
