SIALKOT, Oct 22: Three alleged robbers were killed and two injured seriously in two police encounters on Sunday night. Two robbers were killed while their accomplice sustained injuries in an hour-long encounter near Joriyaan Kalaan village, Uggoki.

Police claimed that the robbers had snatched a motorcycle (STN-642), Rs5,000 in cash and a mobile phone from Saif Ali of Gujiyaanwali village.

The injured robber has been identified as Sultan Mahmood

The second encounter occurred near Chaangariyaan village in Pasrur tehsil in which one robber was killed while his accomplice was injured.

Phalora police said they received a message that two robbers had looted thousands of rupees in cash at gunpoint from Ali Raza. They chased the fleeing robbers who opened fire on seeing the police.

The exchange of fire left a robber dead and other injured. The dead man has been identified as Abdul Qayyum of Aliabad, Narowal. Injured Shahbaz Barkat was admitted to hospital in critical condition.

The bodies were shifted to the DHQ Hospital for autopsy.
