PESHAWAR, Oct 21: Taliban have suffered massive casualties during the past month across the border and scores of bodies are being brought back to the tribal area from southern Afghanistan.

According to sources, as many as 60 bodies had so far been brought to the North and South Waziristan agencies from Afghanistan during the past few weeks.

They said that 18 of the bodies were shifted from Afghanistan’s Paktika province to the North Waziristan Agency only three days ago.

Most of the people killed belonged to the North Waziristan while a few others were from other districts.

The sources said that a large number of local people attended the funeral prayers while few bodies were sent to the agency’s Mirali tehsil for burial.

Sources said that most of the deceased belonged to Maulvi Saifullah group, a local militant leader, a signatory to the Sept 5 peace accord.

Fazal Rahim, a close relative of Maulvi Saifullah, was also among the dead.
