KARACHI, Oct 21: Nine ships carrying raw jute, steel coils and coal are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Sunday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where three ships, Chemstar Hero, to unload chemicals, Orient Independence and Eric G. Gibson, to unload and load containers, were berthed.

Six ships, Global Prince, Conti Esperance, Johar, China Trader, Islamabad and Chemstar Hero departed on Saturday, while Maersk Arkansas, and Orient Independence are due to sail out on Sunday.

Cargo handling at the wharves was light totalling 47,327 tons comprising 9,059 tons of export tonnage, including 1,714 tons of rice and 38,268 tons of import cargo.

The following ships are due on Sunday: Lalazar and Shalamar, with crude oil, Energy Ranger, with coal, Delfinaki, New Vega, with steel and steel products, Fili Queen, Friendly Esa, Fili Queen, with general cargo, Wakasa, with pipes, Salem-4, with 13,200 tons of raw jute.

The following ships are due on Monday: Wan Hai-311, Iran Shahryar and Gulf Bridge, with containers, Liban, with cars, Antoine, with coal and National Dignity, with steel and general cargo.

The following are due on Tuesday: Al-Marwah, with chemical, Swat, with crude oil, Mega-2, with containers, Zhen Hua-18, with crane.

The following will arrive on Wednesday: Mro Sedel, to load ethanol, Mesaleed, to load naphtha, So Fortitude, with chemical, and Hyundai Future, with containers.
