LARKANA, Oct 20: Thirty people were arrested on Friday for their alleged involvement in the murder of two policemen who had gone Hamzo Jatoi village, in search of some criminals, police sources said.

Larkana police have registered two separate FIRs against 38 people, among them four women, on charges of killing Qamaruddain Gopang and Zulfikar Malgani of Peer Sher police station.

One FIR filed by the SHO of Peer Sher police station, Khadim Hussain Mirani, names Dur Muhammed Jatoi, Abdul Ghaffar Jatoi, Ghulam Ali Jatoi, Saalim Jatoi, Abdul Wahab Jatoi and Hashim Jatoi as killers, besides four unidentified men. Police had arrested the six while four were still at large, said the sources.

Police alleged that the four arrested men were already wanted in several murder cases registered in different police stations.

The other FIR lodged at the same police station blames 28 people, including four women, identified as Sakina, wife of Abuzar, Shahnaz, daughter of Pahalwan, Ghulam Sughra, daughter of Pahalwan, and Shafa’at Khatoon, wife of Abdul Sattar Jatoi, besides 14 other women and 10 men unidentified, for aiding and abetting the crime. Police have lodged the four arrested women at the women’s police station for further investigations, sources added.
