RAWALPINDI, Feb 14: Rawalpindi conceded an 87-run first innings lead Thursday but then did well to reduce Lahore Whites to 208 for nine at the close of third day’s play in the Quaid Trophy Grade-I match at Rawalpindi Stadium.

The home side, overnight 258 for seven, put on another 28 runs and were all out for 286 replying to Lahore Whites’ first innings 373. Paceman Wasim Khan picked up all the three wickets to fall and finished with five for 110.

Lahore Whites batsmen could not put up the kind of performance they had shown in the first innings and kept losing wickets with no worthwhile partnership. Faisal Mahmood top-scored with 58 while opener Kashif Siddique collected 36 runs.

Mohammad Zahid and Naeem Akhtar, spearheading the Rawalpindi attack, shared six wickets while Yasir Arafat, Babar Naeem and Shahid Javed took one each.
