Eighteen policemen punished

LAHORE, Oct 19: Eighteen police officials have been awarded different punishments for dereliction of duties, abuse of power, filing of wrong sections in FIRs and delay in registration of cases.

DIG (operations) Aamir Zulfikar Khan gave punishments to six SHOs, nine inspectors, two SIs and a constable.

Two salary stages of Millat Park SHO Asif Ali Agha have been reduced for dereliction of duty and poor performance while annual increment of Naseerabad SHO Kashif Dogar has been stopped for not timely registering a case on the complaint of a citizen.

Annual increments of Green Town SHO Saeed Ahmed and Harbanspura former SHO Nasir Hanif have been stopped for delay in registration of cases, filing a wrong section in FIR, abuse of power and poor performance.

Annual increments of Gulshan-i-Ravi SHO Muhammad Khan and inspector Muhammad Anwar have also been stopped for late registration of cases.

Kahna SHO Muhammad Anwar and inspectors Mudassarullah Khan and Muhammad Ishaq have been censured for dereliction of duty and being unaware of police rules.

The DIG removed SI Rauf Ahmad and head-constable Mazhar Husain from service for negligence and prolonged absence from duty.
